Below mentioned medical expenses or situations are not covered in a health insurance plan:

v  Unless there is an accidental emergency, claims arising during the initial 30 days of buying a health insurance plan are not covered.

v  Coverage of pre-existing diseases is subject to a waiting period of 2 to 4 years

v  Critical illnesses coverage usually comes with 90 days waiting period

v  Injuries caused by war/terrorism/ nuclear activity

v  Self-inflicted injuries or suicide attempts

v  Terminal illnesses, AIDS, and other diseases of similar nature

v  Cosmetic/plastic surgery, replacement of hormones surgery, etc.

v  Dental or eye surgery expenses

v  Bed rest/hospitalization and rehabilitation, common illnesses, etc.

v  Treatment/diagnostic tests and post-care procedures

v  Claims arising out of adventure sports injuries
